Popup Homestead

Our objective is to facilitate families in establishing a new homestead by providing simple and effortless techniques.

In case you're new to the Popup Homestead, we recommend checking out our previous videos that document our journey from New York to Tennessee. We've transitioned to an off-grid lifestyle and are utilizing rainwater harvesting and solar panels to generate electricity. Our experiences can provide valuable insights and ideas for those interested in embarking on a similar journey. In addition to simplifying the process of setting up a homestead, we also focus on incorporating permaculture principles, raising chickens, and breeding meat rabbits.

Permaculture is a sustainable method of agriculture that emphasizes the importance of working with nature, rather than against it. We believe that by utilizing permaculture techniques, we can create a self-sustaining ecosystem that is beneficial for both the environment and our family. For example, we practice crop rotation, companion planting, and soil conservation to ensure that our crops are healthy and productive year after year.

We also raise chickens and meat rabbits as a source of protein for our family. Raising our own animals allows us to have full control over what they eat and how they are treated, ensuring that we have access to high-quality, nutrient-dense meat. We also believe that it's important to raise animals in a humane and ethical way, so we provide our animals with spacious living quarters, ample food and water, and plenty of opportunities to roam and forage.

By incorporating these elements into our homesteading practices, we hope to inspire others to embrace a more self-sufficient lifestyle and become more connected with the land and the food they eat.
