Homemade Pickling Spice

 

Ingredients:

 

2 tbsp mustard seed
2 tbsp allspice
2 tsp coriander
2 tsp clover
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon stick( I use powder)

 

Put into a spice bag and use in recipes that call for pickling spice, this recipe can be doubled or tripled to keep pickling spice made up a head of time. This is a great money saver and it lets you contol the quality of your ingredients. Give a jar of this to the canner on your Christmas list.


Coconut Milk Made At Home

Ingredients:

2 Cups coconut dry flakes(unsweetened)
2 Cups boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. honey

Pour coconut and boiling water into your blender and let it soak for 2 hours. Blend on high for two minutes. Pour mixture into colander lined with cheese cloth. Catch the coconut milk in a bowl under the colander and squeeze out the excess milk from the coconut flakes. Add vanilla and honey if you wish to have it sweetened. Keep refrigerated and shake before using.

 

 

Super Easy Homemade Sour Cream

 Ingredients:                 

1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup buttermilk or white vinegar or sour cream


Place in a glass jar with lid on, shake it up and let stand at room temp for 24 hrs then


Keep refrigerated and enjoy for up to a week!

 

Pure Vanilla Extract

Ingredients:

1 Vanilla Bean
1 Cup Cheap Vodka
1 Glass jar with a lid

Put the vodka and the bean in the glass jar and keep in a dark location for 2 months, shaking every now and again. You can alway just add more vodka when ever you start to get low.

Easy Homemade Mayo

Ingredients:

1 Large Egg
1 tsp mustard
Salt/pepper to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
3/4 Cup Olive Oil

Add all ingredients the a blender, except oil. Mix well then VERY slowly while the blender is running pour in oil, mixture will be very thick and tasty!

Keeps for a week in the refrigerator.
